Why Try Hockey?
At junior level, hockey is an engaging and skillful team sport, played in an encouraging and supportive environment. It builds motor skills; it builds fitness; and it builds social skills. The focus of local hockey coaches and administrators is very much on participation and having fun, and with Geelong hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games hockey, we’re keen to build the profile of our sport in the region.
The Geelong Hockey Club forms part of the Hockey Geelong Association and offers fun, friendships and fitness in a family oriented environment. Members of all ages and skill levels are welcome at our club. Various programs are available for men, women and juniors.

History
The Geelong Hockey Club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Australia. Established in 1913, our longevity is surpassed by few other clubs. Formed as a result of an amalgamation between the oldest men’s and ladies hockey clubs in Geelong, our club has been instrumental in fostering hockey in the Geelong region. A brief history of these two clubs, and the resulting amalgamation, can be found here.
Home Field
Geelong Hockey Club is proud to call Geelong’s premier hockey venue, Stead Park, our home field. With two hybrid synthetic pitches, Stead Park is the home both Jaguars training and games.
